Today's Fashion: The White Dress

Here's another outfit from Roatan! I wore this to dinner in the West End. This is one of my all-time favorite dresses. I bought it in March (post here) and I've worn it three times (dinner in Orlando, Key West and now in Roatan), but this is the first time I've taken pictures of it. Would you wear an embroidered dress? Which one below is your favorite for your body type?

Today's Fashion: The Hoodie

This is what I wore for air travel yesterday! (And for relishing our last lazy moments on the porch.)  I love wearing layers on a plane. I tend to get chilly, so a lightweight hoodie was just the ticket, and the tank underneath was great for hotter moments. Below are some more hoodies I would snuggle up with during travel or on a rainy day. Do you wear hoodies very often? For what occasions?
Hoodie: Gap, $12
Hat: Gap, $12 (similar, similar)

Today's Fashion: Pleated Shorts

I came across this inspiration picture on People StyleWatch yesterday. The reader comments were almost all anti-pleated shorts, but personally, I'm a fan! I think pleats add a little sophistication, and while finding a good fit is important, the right pair can definitely look cute. I love Olivia's outfit (maybe with a different belt?) and J.Lo's fit is a little off but I like the overall idea on her. What's your take on pleated shorts - yay or nay?

Today's Fashion: The Birthday Dress

This is what I wore for my birthday dinner in Orlando! There is something so fun about being a girl and wearing a new dress and shoes, especially on your birthday. This dress won me over instantly with the mint color, bandage-style material and full skirt. I didn't spend tons of time shopping - this was the first dress I ordered and tried on. I love all the options below though (esp. 1 and 2), and overall I'm a fan of going all out on your birthday, even if it falls on a Tuesday. :-) Which option below would you choose?
Dress: Conversation Pieces c/o, $58
Necklace: My Stella & Dot, $118
Shoes: Chinese Laundry c/o, $69 (same)
Purse: Calvin Klein/Macy's, $130 (birthday gift)
Bracelet: Ily Couture c/o, $34

Today's Fashion: Roatan Travel Guide

These shorts arrived just in time for Roatan! My friend Meg and her sister were tie-dying 4th of July weekend in Omaha and I was so jealous of Meg's rainbow shorts, that she made me a pair and surprised me for my birthday. :-) I think they did an amazing job, and pairing them with more color like a neon tank and sandals felt right. I don't love the clutch with it, but I needed to carry my stuff in something and it was the best choice of what I packed.
Also, I've had so many questions about Roatan, I decided to put together a little travel guide, below! You may be wondering why I went and the answer is easy: there is nothing I love more than snorkeling, and Roatan is home to the world's second largest coral reef. I can't explain the level of happiness my brain reaches, there is just no other feeling like it. I can stay out there for hours, and I take my own equipment with me wherever I travel. Overall I like to call Roatan paradise, but without many of the comforts of home. See below for a full guide of what to expect!

Today's Fashion: The Fedora

I wore the top outfit to the airport this week, and the bottom picture is from vacation in Roatan last week. Clearly, I have been wearing fedoras a lot lately! On the beach they provide extra sun coverage, on a boat they keep your hair in tact, and in airports, well, I just like them in airports. I feel incognito and they are fun way to dress up a casual outfit. Are fedoras easy to pull off where you live? Would you wear one?
